When everyone’s beloved BELVEDERE called it quits in 2005, lead singer and guitarist Steve Rawles and drummer Graham Churchill were set on starting a new project and getting back on the road. Teaming up with former FORTY CENT FIX guitarist John Meloche, they gathered in Calgary, Alberta to write songs for their first album. The line-up was soon rounded out by ONE SHOT LEFT bassist Corey Tapp and THIS IS A STANDOFF was born. After releasing two demo songs via MySpace, TIAS went on a month-long European Tour with Italian friends ACTIONMEN and would soon release one of our all-time favourite albums - appropriately named „Be Excited“ - in October 2007. Following more touring, fans were eager for new material and the group didn’t disappoint by any means when „Be Disappointed“ dropped in March 2009. The band subsequently embarked on another European tour in support of the album before releasing „Be Delighted“ in September 2011. On February 7, 2012 it was sadly announced via their Facebook page that the band was no more. In 2018 though, fans once again got the chance to catch TIAS live on a reunion tour through Canada and Europe called „Be United“. Originally intended to be a side project, TIAS so far found themselves playing over 300 shows in over 25 countries.
